SEATTLE — Russell Wilson is deservedly on the short list of players who will be under consideration for 2019 NFL MVP honors. But he provided an assist on a touchdown Monday night he’d surely like to have back.

With just over five minutes left in the first half of the Seahawks’ Week 13 game against the Vikings — a game Seattle needed to move into position for a first-round bye in the NFC playoff field — Wilson threw a pass from his own 22-yard line that Minnesota lineman Armon Watts deflected at the line of scrimmage. Wilson, who had a gaudy eight-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio (24 to 3, respectively) entering the evening, tried to bat the ball to the turf but instead sent it caroming into the hands of safety Anthony Harris, who coasted into the end zone for a 20-yard pick six that staked the Vikings to a 14-7 lead.

Earlier this season, Baltimore’s Marcus Peters also took a Wilson pick to the house.

Plenty of bounces have gone the Seahawks’ way this season, but this bit of tough luck could hurt in such a close matchup.

The Vikings took a 17-10 lead into the locker room.
